The Rubber Cafe DT Challenge

Good Morning!!! Today I have another card to show you using the Party Hearts stamp from The Rubber Cafe. The Rubber Cafe Design Team was issued a challenge to make a card using the following criteria:

-- Colors: Teal Greens, Blue, and Whites
-- Must have at least one patterned paper
-- Use pop dots (card must be dimensional)
-- Use something recycled (metal, plastic, paper, etc.)

The Party Hearts stamp actually has three hearts (you can see the whole stamp here), but for this card I only used the center heart. I stamped the image eight times with Palette Noir ink and then colored in all of the center hearts with a Copic Marker. I then cut out all of the hearts and arranged them to make the flower. The top four hearts are popped up with dimensionals. I added Crystal Stickles to the center of the hearts and a little rhinestone to the center of the flower. The card base is Tempting Turquoise and the patterned paper is the retired SU! designer paper, Petals and Paisley. The white layer of cardstock is embossed with the Cuttlebug Floral Fantasy Embossing Folder. The ribbon is Mary Arts and my "recycled" part; a metal "love" tag from my stash. The Rubber Cafe - Loving Cup

Good Morning!!! Only one more day until Halloween and another day closer to the weekend; YAY!!! I made today's card with the Loving Cup stamp from The Rubber Cafe. The whole image is stamped in Chocolate Chip ink. I then colored in the hearts with a red Copic marker and the steam coming out of the cup is colored in with my Sakura Stardust Gelly Roll Pen. I also added some white Liquid Applique for foam. Now, I have a question for all of you. Can you tell me what is missing in my card? I didn't notice until just now...LOL!!! I used Whisper White, Chocolate Chip, and Real Red Cardstock. The Real Red is embossed with the Cuttlebug Heart Blocks embossing folder. I used my ticket corner punch for the corners and added some red Doodlebug brads. The striped ribbon is from one of Jody's ribbon share and I printed out the "Whole Latte Love" sentiment on my computer. So, did you notice what was missing in my card? Let me know. TECC39 - The Rubber Cafe - Pink Party Hearts

Good Afternoon!!! I hope everyone had a great weekend. Mine was productive, fun, and relaxing. I was able to get a lot of housework and stamping done, my hubby and I had "date night" on Saturday night, and I was even able to fit in a nap yesterday...LOL!!! I made today's card for Taylor's Cupcake Challenge this week. You can view her sketch challenge here. I used the Party Hearts stamp from The Rubber Cafe. The stamp is actually three hearts together (see this post), but for this card I just used the center heart. I colored in the hearts with a Copic marker, added Cotton Candy Stickles to each of them, and popped them up on dimensionals. The cardstock colors are Bazzill Blackbird, Regal Rose, and GP White, which is embossed with the Cuttlebug Spots & Dots folder. The "XOXO" patterned paper was in my stash and I can't remember what company makes it. The black and white gingham ribbon is from Taylored Expressions. I also decorated the inside of the card. The Rubber Cafe - Love Mail

Hello...:) It's a chilly and windy one here today, probably the coldest day yet this fall; only 48 degrees. Brrr!!! But, it's perfect stamping weather if you ask me...LOL!!! Today's card uses another stamp from The Rubber Cafe. It is called Love Mail. The Rubber Cafe website is still undergoing maintenance, but as soon as it is up and running, I will come back and edit this post (and yesterday's) with a link to the stamp. The mailbox, hearts, and bird are all one stamp. I stamped the mailbox and bird with Palette Noir ink and the hearts in Regal Rose. To color in the image I actually used a combination of Copic Markers, Prismacolor Pencils, AND a blender pen with ink. I highlighted the bird with my Sakura Stardust Gelly Roll Pen and I added Crystal Stickles to all the hearts. I also sponged around the image with Certainly Celery ink. I printed the sentiment out on the computer and punched it out with my word window punch. The patterned paper is from the Be Loved Collection by Cloud 9 Designs and the ribbon is by May Arts. The Rubber Cafe - Party Hearts

Good Afternoon! Myself and the other design team members for The Rubber Cafe are currently working on cards for Valentine's Day. Today's card uses the Party Hearts stamp and one of their Happy Valentine's Day sentiments. The Rubber Cafe website is currently undergoing some maintenance, so I did not link the stamps, but as soon as the website is up and running again I will come back and edit this post. The hearts and sentiment are stamped in Palette Noir ink. I colored in the hearts with a red Copic marker and added Crystal Stickles; SUPER SPARKLY!!! I stamped the heart image again, colored in the center heart, cut it out, and popped it up on dimensionals. The cardstock is Real Red and the patterned paper is by Doodlebug. I used my ticket corner punch on the patterned paper and added some red rhinestones I had in my stash. That's about it for today's card; super simple. The Rubber Cafe - Falling Leaves

The Rubber Cafe Design Team was issued a challenge this past weekend. The challenge was to choose any layout from the SCS Sketch Challenges and to use the below picture as inspiration for adding color to our card. I don't know how well I succeeded in the "color" area, but I did use SC125 for this card. I choose a very simple layout, because the patterned paper I used is just too pretty to cover up. It is by Best Creation Inc. and I picked it up at my LSS. Trust me when I tell you that it looks so much better in person. The stamp is called Falling Leaves and it's by The Rubber Cafe. I colored the image in my Prismacolor Pencils (unfortunately I don't own a set of Copic Markers yet; *GASP*) and blended with Gamsol and a stump. I distressed the image and sponged around it with Creamy Caramel ink. The cardstock colors are Ruby Red and Garden Green and I used my corner rounder punch for the bottom of the card. The second card is very similar to the one I posted on Friday, but vertical. The Give Thanks sentiment (also by The Rubber Cafe) is stamped in Bravo Burgundy. I used my new Fiskars Threading Water Punch and some new ribbon from Michael's. That's all for today. Hope everyone has a great evening.

The Rubber Cafe - Give Thanks

Today's card uses another stamp from The Rubber Cafe. The Give Thanks sentiment is another one of the featured Fall and Holiday stamps on their website. You can check out all of the featured stamps and new products here. I stamped the sentiment in Chocolate Chip ink, punched it out with my Marvy Uchida mega circle punch, and sponged around it with More Mustard ink. The cardstock colors are Bazzill Old Flame and Bazzill Buttercup and the patterned paper is from the Scribble Scrabble Autumn Afternoon Collection. The brads are by Making Memories and the Chocolate grosgrain ribbon is from Taylored Expressions. The Rubber Cafe DT was issued a challenge for over the weekend, so I will be back on Monday to show you what I came up with. Hope everyone has a WONDERFUL weekend!!!

The Rubber Cafe - Gourds

I made this card using the Gourds stamp from The Rubber Cafe. You can check out all their newest products and their featured Fall and Holiday stamps here. I stamped the image on Whisper White with Palette Noir ink and colored it in with Prismacolor Pencils. Then, I blended with Gamsol and a stump and sponged around the image with Creamy Caramel ink. The cardstock colors are Pumpkin Pie, Garden Green, and Close to Cocoa. The Garden Green layer is embossed with the Cuttlebug Distressed Stripes embossing folder and I distressed both Close to Cocoa layers. To finish the card off I added a metal swirl and some ribbon from the Target $1 Spot. Don't forget to check out more samples using stamps from The Rubber Cafe on the other design team member's blogs. Some Exciting News!

I have some exciting news to share with all of you today. I have been accepted as a Design Team Member for The Rubber Cafe; YAY!!!
