Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge #59

Well hello there and happy Tuesday! I hope everyone is having a good week so far. Today's card is one I made for Taylor's Dragonfly Card Drive. If you're not familiar with the card drive, you can check out all the details HERE. I used Karen's Sweet Sunday Sketch #59 for my layout and the November Key Ingredients from Taylored Expressions.

The dragonfly stamp is from the Patterned Bugs set by Inkadinkado and is stamped in Memento Rhubarb Stalk ink. I cut the image out with my Curved Rectangle Nestabilities and added a couple of rhinestones to the center of the dragonfly. For the background, I used the smaller dragonfly stamp from the Patterned Bugs set, stamped the image numerous times with Versamark, and embossed the images with clear embossing powder. The "With Sympathy" sentiment is from the Warmest Regards set by SU!.

Sweet Stems

Good Morning! I can't believe it's already Thursday; not that I'm complaining...LOL! Today's card uses all Stampin' UP! products. If you are follower of my blog, then you know that I put myself on a "stamping spending freeze" a while back. Well, I cracked...LOL!!! I just had to have this Sweet Stems set and matching designer paper from the new catty. I colored the image in with SU! ink and a blender pen and the Cameo Coral layer was embossed with my Cuttlebug Swiss Dots embossing folder.

JustRite Monogram Set

Good Morning & Happy Tuesday! Right before my husband and I were ready to ship out my in-laws Christmas gifts to Georgia, I decided I wanted to put one last little gift in there for my mother-in-law. So, I sat down this past Saturday morning (literally an hour before my husband was leaving for the UPS store) and made this set of six monogram cards. I wanted them to be cute (of course), but they had to be quick. So, I pulled out my SU! Friends and Flowers scrappin' kit and went to work. I used the JustRite Curlz Kit to create the monogram and stamped it in Tempting Turquoise ink. I punched out the monogram and then layered it to So Saffron cardstock which I cut out using my Martha Stewart Circle Cutter. I inked around the So Saffron layer with Chocolate Chip ink and popped it up on dimensionals. I also stamped six matching envelopes and packaged everything up in a Clearly Creative Card Box from PAPERTREYink. Then, I decorated the outside of the box with a belly band and more cardstock stickers from the Friends and Flowers scrappin' kit. I didn't have enough time to take a picture of the box, but it turned out really cute. I really hope my mother-in-law likes them. Many Thanks Set

One of the "To Do" items on my list this week was to make a set of six thank you cards as a Christmas gift for one of my Daughter's teachers. With so much that still needs to be done for Christmas, I wanted (I NEEDED) the cards to be very quick and easy. Recently, I purchased Taylor's newest Taylored Kit and really liked the simple layout she used for the cards, so I decided to use the same layout. I found this patterned paper in my stash and thought is was just PERFECT. The paper is called "A Is For Apple" and it's from the Scribble Scrabble Autumn Afternoon Collection. I used Bazzill Old Flame and Bazzill Hillary cardstock to match and stamped the sentiment on SU! Naturals Ivory cardstock in Bravo Burgundy ink. The stamp is from the SU! Lots of Thoughts set. I got the idea to use just the "Many Thanks" part from hudsonhannah on SCS and you can view her cards that inspired me here. I used Bravo Burgundy ink to stamp the sentiment and the polka dot ribbon is from Taylored Expressions. I also stamped matching envelopes using the Teacher's Apple set from PAPERTREYink. The apple is stamped in Bravo Burgundy, the stem in Close to Cocoa, and the leaf in Old Olive. I actually made three different cards with different ribbon (two of each), but I'm just showing you one of them here. I packaged the cards and envelopes in a Clearly Creative Card Box from PAPERTREYink and tied the same ribbon around the box. Thanks for stopping by. I hope everyone is having a GREAT day!!!

The Rubber Cafe DT Challenge

Good Morning!!! Today I have another card to show you using the Party Hearts stamp from The Rubber Cafe. The Rubber Cafe Design Team was issued a challenge to make a card using the following criteria:

-- Colors: Teal Greens, Blue, and Whites
-- Must have at least one patterned paper
-- Use pop dots (card must be dimensional)
-- Use something recycled (metal, plastic, paper, etc.)

The Party Hearts stamp actually has three hearts (you can see the whole stamp here), but for this card I only used the center heart. I stamped the image eight times with Palette Noir ink and then colored in all of the center hearts with a Copic Marker. I then cut out all of the hearts and arranged them to make the flower. The top four hearts are popped up with dimensionals. I added Crystal Stickles to the center of the hearts and a little rhinestone to the center of the flower. The card base is Tempting Turquoise and the patterned paper is the retired SU! designer paper, Petals and Paisley. The white layer of cardstock is embossed with the Cuttlebug Floral Fantasy Embossing Folder. The ribbon is Mary Arts and my "recycled" part; a metal "love" tag from my stash. WCMDFS08 - SherryLC05

Happy Thursday!!! Sorry for my absence this week. It's been a little nutty on the home front...LOL!!! I made this card on World Card Making Day for the Featured Stamper Challenge on SCS. I would say I'm a little behind on posting it, wouldn't you...LOL?!? The Featured Stamper was SherryLC05 and you can see which one of her cards inspired me here. I used my favorite "pink" color combo; Pretty in Pink and Purely Pomegranate and the designer paper is SU! Berry Bliss. I used my round corner punch to create the scallops and added some White Opal Liquid Pearls to each scallop (as well as the scallop circle). The image, which is from the SU! set So Many Scallops, is stamped in Purely Pomegranate and popped up with dimensionals. The ribbon is light pink and pomegranate grosgrain ribbon and I purchased it from Taylored Expressions. Thanks for stopping by and I hope everyone has a great day!

Onesie Cards

I was in need of some baby cards, so I decided to finally try making a "onesie" card. I was surprised at how easy they are to make. Not to mention how FUN!!! Thank you to Lauren Meader for her AWESOME tutorial on how to make these adorable cards. You can check it out HERE. For the first card I used Pretty in Pink and Purely Pomegranate cardstock. The image is from the SU! set So Many Scallops. I stamped it in Purely Pomegranate and then punched it out with my scallop circle punch. I stamped the image again on Pretty in Pink cardstock. I then cut out the SWEET ONE part and adhered it over the image. The entire image is set up on dimensionals. To finish it off, I added some adhesive jewels for the "snaps". For the second card I used Gable Green and Green Galore cardstock and adhesive pearls for the "snaps". The pink card is for my girlfriend who just had her third (and final) girl on Monday. The green card is for my Cousin's baby shower. They do not know the sex of the baby, so I thought green would be a good color choice. Simple & Bright Thank You Cards

Happy April Fools Day...LOL! I was finally able to finish the 40 baby shower invites I was working on over the weekend; WOO, HOO!!! However, I still haven't created anything new. So, today I thought I would share some more cards that I made a while back. For these cards I used the SU! sets, Best Blossoms and Warmest Regards. I used Whisper White for the card base and the cardstock/ink colors are Regal Rose, Tempting Turquoise, Lovely Lilac, and Gable Green. For each card, I punched out a matching flower using the SU! Spring Bouquet Flower Punch and attached it to the card with a white brad. The striped ribbon is from one of Jody's ribbon shares. It's hard to see in the pictures, but I also paper pierced the colored cardstock on each card and the two bottom corners. Is it Friday yet....LOL?!? I stayed up until 11:30 last night watching a movie with my hubby; which is late for me. I'm usually in bed by 9:00-9:30 at the latest during the week, so I'm pretty tired today. Sunny Blossoms

I've been so busy working on baby shower invites that I haven't had a chance to create anything new. So, today I thought I would share a card that I made a while back. I'm sure many of you will agree with me when I say; I AM SO READY FOR SPRING WEATHER!!! I can't wait for the trees to start budding, the flowers to start blooming, and the smell of Spring in the air. That's what this card reminds me of. I used Whisper White, Summer Sun, and a black linen cardstock I picked up from my LSS. The card base is stamped with the small flower from Delight in Life with Versamark and the smaller Summer Sun layer is stamped with the background stamp from the same set. I stamped the flowers from the set Both Way Blossoms with Basic Black. Then, I colored them in with Summer Sun and Certainly Celery ink using a blender pen. You can't see it in the picture, but I also added StarDust Stickles to the center of the flowers. The "Thinking of You" sentiment is from the Warmest Regards set (all stamps are SU!). Baby Shower Invites

I want to first start off by saying that I cased these invites from my sweet friend, Kendra. This is NOT my design. You can check out her adorable baby shower invites here. I am making 40 of these pocket card invites for a girlfriend of mine whose other friend is due with a boy in June. I used the stamp set Oh Baby! by Lizzie Anne Designs and the invitation stamp that is in the inside is one that I picked up from Michael's. The cardstock colors are Bashful Blue and Ballet Blue. I ran half of the cardstock for the pocket through my Cuttlebug using the Spots and Dots embossing folder. I punched out the "Baby Shower" stamp with my Marvy Uchida Mega Circle Punch and colored around the letters with a blender pen and Bashful Blue ink. I used my Marvy Uchida Giga Scalloped Circle Punch to punch out the Ballet Blue cardstock and pierced each of the scallops. The second picture shows the inside. I used one of the stamps from the Bundle of Joy set to break up the "It's a Boy!" stamp and the invite info. The invite itself is another one I made. For that one I used the Cuttlebug Swiss Dots embossing folder, white brads, and blue & white gingham ribbon. My girlfriend liked the first one better. I personally think the blue & white gingham ribbon looks adorable. Anyway, I hope you all have a great evening. I will be back tomorrow with an Easter card to show you.

Criss Cross Card Swap

I made these cards for a Criss Cross Card Swap that my friend Tracey is hosting on SCS. I love how fun and easy these cards are to make. The cardstock colors are Pretty in Pink, Bravo Burgundy, and Naturals Ivory. The patterned paper is Fancy Pants First Date and its double side. The flower (from the SU! Sale-A-Bration set, So Many Scallops) is stamped in Regal Rose and punched out with my SU! Scallop Circle Punch. I also added a little "bling" to the center of the flower. The sentiment is from the MFT set, Icing on the Cake and I stamped it in Bravo Burgundy. I also stamped the insert with the small flower from the set Delight in Life. I really hope the other ladies in the swap like them.

Do you like my new watermark? Beth made my blog banner a while back, so I thought it was time to have her make me a watermark too. She made me a few different ones and I'm super happy with them.

Wedding Shower Candles

My Husband's Uncle is getting married at the end of the March and I was asked to decorate 56 jar candles for his wedding shower that took place last month. The bridesmaid's dresses are brown and the bride's dress is accented with pink flowers. So, I thought the new SU! Berry Bliss Designer Paper would be perfect! I decorated two different size candles with the Berry Bliss DP and Pretty in Pink and Close to Cocoa cardstock. I used the set Going to the Chapel by My Favorite Things. I stamped the images onto Whisper White cardstock with Palette Noir Ink. For the smaller candles, I colored in the rings with my Sakura Stardust Gelly Roll Pen and added StarDust Stickles to the diamond. For the larger candles, I used a blender pen and Regal Rose ink to color in the image and added some sparkle with (none other than) my Sakura Stardust Gelly Roll Pen. Instead of using ribbon for each of the candles, I used tulle. Not only is less expensive, but I thought it would be more fitting being that the candles were for a wedding shower.

I Like "U" a Latte & TECC3

These are a couple of the cards I made for Valentine's Day. I originally made the first one to send to one of my "Starbucks Addicted" friends, but I made a different one for her and ended up sending this one to my Mom & Dad. I don't own the SU! set; Like it a Latte, so a couple of wonderful ladies from SCS sent me the images. I got the idea to turn the "it" into a "U" from my friend Kendra. The cardstock colors are Real Red and Chocolate Chip and the Chocolate Chip layer is embossed with the Cuttlebug d'vine Swirl folder. It's hard to see in the photo, but I distressed the white cardstock with my Tim Holtz Paper Distresser. I pierced around the scallop and traced them with my Sakura Stardust Gelly Roll Pen. I used Liquid Applique for the foam and popped the heart up with a dimensional. I made the second card for one of Taylor's Cupcake Challenges. The challenge was to make a card using this sketch. I made mine vertical instead of horizontal. The "Sweet" stamp is from the My Favorite Things set, Be Mine. This was the card that I ended up sending my friend. The carstock colors are Real Red, Chocolate Chip, Regal Rose. The red layer is embossed with the Cuttlebug Heart Blocks folder. Speaking of the Cuttlebug; don't you just LOVE their new embossing folders??? My favorite is the Swiss Dots folder (if I HAD to choose...LOL). I have 4 of the new ones right now and hope to get my hands on the rest of them...LOL!!! I hope everyone has a great evening.

Alicia's Valentines

I know that Valentine's Day have come and gone, but I thought I would share some things I've made since the last time I blogged. I really wanted to make my Daughter's class Valentines for her this year (it was important to me), so I sat down one Saturday and cranked out 30 of these little babies in no time at all. I made 6 different designs (5 of each), but only 4 of them are pictured here. I used the My Favorite Things set Be Mine and an old hostess set by SU!; Made from Scratch. The patterned paper is from Target. The package came with 12 assorted sheets and I found it in the $1 Spot; what a deal! My inspiration for these little 3x3 Valentines came from Valerie Stangle. You can check out her 3x3 card here. My Daughter was very happy with them, so I was very happy about that. She is going to be "11" next month, so she is in a very "picky" stage right now. I'm sure some of you can relate...LOL!!! I'll be posting some more cards I made for Valentine's Day later this afternoon.
