Junior Legal Pad Wish Lists

YAY; it's WEDNESDAY! I wouldn't normally be this excited about a Wednesday, but since it's the last day of the work week and Thanksgiving is tomorrow; I am...LOL!!! After I finished making the card I posted yesterday, I decided to keep out my Be Merry patterned paper and die cuts to make my girls each a little "wish list". SCS has a great tutorial for these, which you can view it here. I bought a pack of junior legal pads at my local office supply store, had them cut them in half (vertically), and I was on my "merry" way...LOL!!! I used Regal Rose and Garden Green cardstock. The green wish list is stamped with the PAPERTREYink Polka Dot Basics set. So, why didn't I stamp the other one? Well, my five year old was looking over my shoulder the entire time I was making hers saying "Are you done yet Mommy, are you done yet?". Since I was pretty sure that her wish list wouldn't stay in one piece very long, I decided to forgo stamping the background and just finish it up as quickly as I could for her...LOL. It's hard to see in the photo, but I added Crystal Stickles to parts of the die cuts (you can click on the photo for a larger view) and the glimmer ribbon is from the Christmas Key Ingredients from Taylored Expressions. My girls were SO excited when I gave them each their wish lists; they couldn't wait to start using them. So, before they did, I snapped a picture of them. Thanks for stopping by and I hope you all have a wonderful day!

TECC43 - No Stamping!!!

Hello... :) This is another card I made for Taylor's Cupcake Challenge this past Friday (you can view her sketch here). Taylor inspired me to try making my own "no stamping" card and this is what I came up with. The red, brown, and blue cardstock are all from the Christmas Key Ingredients from Taylored Expressions. The Jack Frost patterned paper, snowman, and sentiment are all from the My Mind's Eye Be Merry Collection. I punched out the snowflake with my Martha Stewart snowflake punch and I added a red rhinestone to the center. The ice blue rhinestones are also from the Christmas Key Ingredients. It's hard to see in the photo, but I also sponged around the snowman and sentiment with Close to Cocoa ink. That's it; super easy and I didn't use a single stamp...LOL!!! Thanks for stopping by and I hope you all have a wonderful day!

TECC43 - Happy Birthday!

Good Afternoon! I hope everyone had a wonderful weekend. I had a little time on Saturday to sit down and create something for Taylor's Cupcake Challenge this week. You can view her sketch here. Both the main image and sentiment are from the SASI Sweet Celebration set and the three candles are from the Icing on the Cake set by MFT. The pink, green, and orange cardstock as well as the patterned paper and brads are all from the Birthday Girl Key Ingredients from Taylored Expressions. I colored the images in with a combination of Prismacolor Markers and Copic Markers. Then I added Crystal Stickles to parts of the cupcake, cake, and candles. I'm starting to think I have an addiction to Stickles. I've been adding it to everything...LOL!!! I cut the pink layer of the sentiment with a pair of scalloped scissors to match the scalloped circle punch. Thanks for stopping by and I hope everyone has a great day!

YAY; I'm a Friday Friend!

Good Morning and TGIF!!! Guess what? I'm this week's "Friday Friend" over on the SASI (Stamp a Sweet Impression) Blog. I can't even tell you how excited I was when I received Taylor's email earlier this week. Sure, I contained myself (a little bit) when I responded to her, but really I almost jumped out of my computer chair...LOL!!! I have always been a huge fan of Taylor's work (and now a huge SASI fan), so it's an honor to be their "friend" today...:)

To see what I created, head on over to the SASI Blog. You can get to know a little bit more about me and I even have a recipe to share with all of you. And, don't forget to stop over at Taylored Expressions to check out all of the "yummy" SASI stamps.

Thanks for stopping by today to share in my excitement. I hope you all have a wonderful weekend!

Penguin Games

Good Morning and Happy Hump Day...LOL!!! Last year I really wanted to get this Penguin Games stamp by Stampendous, but never got around to it. This year I checked all of my favorite online stamping stores and they were all sold out...grrr. Then, I was at Michael's about a month ago and I saw it on their Christmas end cap and it was on sale too; YIPPEE!!! I had so much fun coloring in these guys. I stamped the image in Momento Tuxedo Black ink and colored it in with Prismacolor Markers. I added some White Liquid Applique to their hats. I also added Crystal Stickles to the bulbs and to the base of the larger penguins for a sparkly snow effect. The "Let It Snow" sentiment from the SASI Home Sweet Home set was perfect for this card. I stamped the sentiment on a Cuttlebug ribbon slide, added some silver Dot Sparklers, and threaded some red and white polka dot ribbon through it. The cardstock is Prism Papers Classic Red and the patterned paper is from the KI Memories Joyful Collection. Thanks so much for stopping by and I hope you all have a wonderful day!!!

TECC42 - Season's Sweetings

Good Afternoon! Well, we made it past Monday...LOL!!! Thank you for your sweet comments on yesterday's post about my Daughter. Like Oma said, "Monkey See, Monkey Do"; SO TRUE...LOL!!! I made this card for Taylor's Cupcake Challenge this past Friday. You can check out her sketch here. I had a lot of fun with this sketch and will definitely use it again in the future (thanks Taylor). I used the SASI Season's Sweetings set from Taylored Expressions. All of the cardstock and patterned paper I used is from the Christmas Key Ingredients, which is now back in stock at Taylored Expressions, so RUN don't walk...LOL! The snowflakes were punched out with my new Martha Stewart Snowflake Punch (I picked mine up at Wal-Mart) and I added some StarDust Stickles to the centers. The sentiment is punched out with my Word Window punch. I colored in the image with Copic Markers and Prismacolor Pencils and paper pierced the scarf. I also added StarDust Stickles to the ear muffs and cupcake liner and used Ruby Red Liquid Pearls for the cherry. If you click on the close-up picture to get a larger view, you can see that I didn't do a very good job with the liquid pearls...LOL!!! And, the image just wasn't complete without some Baby Pink Candy Dots. That's about it. Thanks for stopping by and I hope you all have a wonderful Tuesday.

Youngest SASI Fan...LOL!!!

Saturday I was at my stamping desk making a card for Taylor's Cupcake Challenge this week (which I'll post tomorrow) and had my holiday SASI stamps out. My youngest Daughter Erin (who is five) asked if I could stamp some images for her to color (she always asks me to do that when I am stamping...LOL), so I did. She took the images into her room and proceeded to color them. A little while later she came up to me and said "Mommy, come see my room". I said "I did honey, you did a great job cleaning it". She said "No mommy, you have to come take a look at it again, PLEASE???", so I did.

I walked into her room to find the CUTEST thing. She had two pieces of white computer paper and a card she made set up on her Winnie The Pooh chair like she was going to take a picture of it (like I do with my cards). Well, of course I had to take a picture of it...LOL! After I did Erin said "Mommy, take a picture of me with my card too." Then, she said "Wait, I have one more." As she was switching out her images I quietly heard her say "Steady, Steady" as if the small piece of paper was going to break if it fell on the floor; it was priceless. I laughed, told her how adorable she was, and then thought "I think she just might be the youngest SASI fan...LOL". I've attached some pictures; isn't she just the cutest?!?

Sweet Holiday Wishes

Good Morning and TGIF!!! I'm so excited to show you what I made the other night. I was at Wal-Mart the other day on my lunch break and I came across Martha Stewart's Frosty Gingerbread paper pad. One of the patterns in the paper pad is this red, green, and pink candy paper. As soon as I saw it I knew I wanted to do something with the peppermint and spearmint Star Brites mints. I used a Clearly Creative Card Box from PAPERTREYink to hold the mints. The image and sentiment is from the Stamp a Sweet Impression set, Season's Sweetings and I colored the image in with Prismacolor and Copic Markers. I used my Sakura Quickie Glue Pen on the garland of the tree and added some Fire Engine Red Glitter from the Christmas Key Ingredients from Taylored Expressions. The star, ornaments, tree base, and cupcake liner are covered with Crystal Stickles (you can click on the the individual pictures for a better view of all the glitter) and I added some red rhinestones to the cupcake and sentiment. I used some red and green Bazzill cardstock that I had in my stash (don't know the exact names) along with some Regal Rose. The green cardstock was punched with my Fiskars Threading Water Punch and the red and white polka dot ribbon is also from Taylored Expressions. I was so happy with the way the mint box turned out, that I decided to make a matching card too. Thanks for stopping by today. I hope you all have a wonderful day and an even better weekend!

AMRS44 - Alexis' Bad Hair Day

Earlier this year I hosted a couple of multiple vendor card kit swaps through SCS. One of the card kits that I received was from Jackie (a.k.a. luv2stampmamajacki). As I was looking through all of my card kits, this crazy haired girl grabbed my attention...LOL!!! The image (Alexis' Bad Hair Day-Stamping Bella), sentiment (Stamping Bella as well), patterned paper, and prima flower are all from Jackie's kit. I used one of Amy's sketches to make the card. You can view the sketch I used here. I colored the image in with Prismacolor Markers, and then added some white Liquid Applique and Crystal Stickles to parts of the robe. I used Pixie Pink and Gable Green cardstock to match the patterned paper. The Gable Green layer is embossed with the Cuttlebug Swiss Dots Embossing Folder. I punched out the sentiment with my Word Window punch and added some pink rhinestones to the card and the center of the flower to finish it off. Isn't she so cute?!? She looks so warm and cozy. I sure wish I was in my robe at home right now, but I must get back to work. Thank you for stopping by today. I hope you all have a wonderful day!

TECC41 - Home Sweet Home

Good Morning!!! I would have posted this card yesterday, but I wasn't (and I'm still not) feeling so hot. I'm coming down with "something" and have quite the little froggie in my throat...LOL!!! Any who, I made this card over the weekend for Taylor's Cupcake Challenge. You can view her sketch here. I used the Home Sweet Home stamp set by Taylored Expressions as well as the Christmas Key Ingredients (except for the Certainly Celery cardstock which is not part of the Christmas Key Ingredients). The house is colored in with Prismacolor Markers and the snowflakes are stamped in Bashful Blue. I added some white Liquid Applique to the roof and the ground for snow (I love this stuff) and LOTS of Crystal Stickles to the image and snowflakes. To create the scallops, I used my Fiskars Threading Water Punch and to finish off the card, I added some light blue rhinestones to the corners and ribbon above the house (both from Taylored Expressions). Thanks for stopping by today. I'm off to make myself some peppermint tea in hopes that my throat will feel a little bit better.

The Rubber Cafe DT Challenge

Good Morning!!! Today I have another card to show you using the Party Hearts stamp from The Rubber Cafe. The Rubber Cafe Design Team was issued a challenge to make a card using the following criteria:

-- Colors: Teal Greens, Blue, and Whites
-- Must have at least one patterned paper
-- Use pop dots (card must be dimensional)
-- Use something recycled (metal, plastic, paper, etc.)

The Party Hearts stamp actually has three hearts (you can see the whole stamp here), but for this card I only used the center heart. I stamped the image eight times with Palette Noir ink and then colored in all of the center hearts with a Copic Marker. I then cut out all of the hearts and arranged them to make the flower. The top four hearts are popped up with dimensionals. I added Crystal Stickles to the center of the hearts and a little rhinestone to the center of the flower. The card base is Tempting Turquoise and the patterned paper is the retired SU! designer paper, Petals and Paisley. The white layer of cardstock is embossed with the Cuttlebug Floral Fantasy Embossing Folder. The ribbon is Mary Arts and my "recycled" part; a metal "love" tag from my stash. Thanks for stopping by and I hope everyone has a wonderful day!
